What stays in your browser

The explorer remembers your current place and camera position in this tab’s session storage, so reloading or returning can bring you back. The same position is kept in browser history for Back and Forward. This information is not sent to us. The explorer also understands saves from its earlier local version.

Session storage normally ends when you close the tab, although your browser may restore it when restoring a browsing session. You can remove it using your browser’s controls for clearing this site’s data. Blocking browser storage does not prevent exploration.

Character responses and the page’s reduced-motion choice last only while the page is open. Your device’s reduced-motion preference is also respected. Images and site files may remain in your browser’s ordinary cache to make later visits faster. The explorer does not use cookies or local storage to save a profile, scores or a visit log.

Requests to the host

Your browser requests pages and pictures from the site’s host. The public site is prepared for Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical request data, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service; this is separate from advertising or analytics added by Green Meadows. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its practices.

Links to Jake’s website and historical source books take you to other sites with their own privacy practices. We do not load their pages, images or tracking code as part of the explorer.
